Decadent Chocolate Smoothie Bowl
Gluten free, dairy free, vegan, no refined sugar
Who says you can’t have dessert for breakfast? This chocolate smoothie bowl tastes so good it’s hard to believe it’s 100% healthy!
Serves 1-2
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or cashew milk
1 very large frozen banana, chopped
2 tablespoons avocado
1 heaping tbsp protein powder (neutral or vanilla, I use vega or Sunwarrior)
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1-2 Medjool date or maple syrup to taste
Handful of spinach
1-2 Ice cubes
Topping suggestions
Chopped Strawberries or raspberries
Large flake or shredded unsweetened coconut
Hemp hearts and/or pumpkin seeds, sliced almonds
Cacao nibs
Directions
Put the almond milk in a high speed blender then add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Smoothie should be thick, like soft-serve texture. Add more milk if blender is having a tough time! Spoon into a bowl and add desired toppings
Notes: be sure to use very soft dates. If not, try soaking them for 15-30mins.
