Mango Turmeric Smoothie

Gluten Free. Dairy Free. Refined Sugar Free

This tropical inspired smoothie not only tastes great but is packed full of healing properties! Turmeric contains an active compound called “curcumin” and is fantastic for reducing inflammation in the body! Ginger helps aid digestion and tummy troubles, parsley boosts our body’s detox pathways and the fresh lime and coconut water add extra electrolytes to keep your cells and muscles well hydrated! Now that’s a drink!

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mango cut into cubes, fresh or frozen

  • 1-2 handfuls of spinach or kale

  • 1/4 cup or small handful of parsley (optional)

  • 1/4 cup or small handful of mint (optional)

  • juice from 1 lime

  • 2 tbsp of hemp seeds

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 heaping tablespoon of Vega Vanilla Protein and Greens (optional)

  • 2 ice cubes

  • ½ cup water or coconut water or more if needed

Directions

  • Add all ingredients to high speed blender. Blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • If you omit the protein powder and wish for the smoothie to be a tad sweeter, feel free to add 1-2tbsp of honey or maple syrup.

  • You can sub in water or unsweetened almond/cashew/nut milk instead of coconut water.
